Amy and Josh are definitely a couple to be admired, wow! Both of them committed to a no-touch rule before marriage, and both have been diligently seeing it through! They both wanted to make it clear that this is something they wanted to do for each other, but it may not be for everyone. Its such a joy and blessing to be able to see and witness their commitment and love for each other beyond just the physical! Their dedication to each other is an inspiration not only to me but I’m sure many other couples that surround them 🙂
I was super excited for this shoot since it was the first time I had such unique conditions to work with:
1. no-touch
2. minimal/no standing
My first instinct was to try to think of ways to get around both by finding creative ways they could “appear” to be standing, or ways they could “appear” to be touching. But in doing that, I realized that would not be honoring or celebrating the wonderful relationship that is truly unique only to them! In the end, we decided on focusing their shoot on painting the story of their relationship in a comic-book style 🙂 In the end I decided to create a rhyming storybook for them in light of the fact that Josh won Amy over with his corny jokes, poems and rhymes 😀
For the proposal, Amy and Josh went camping at Catalina Island with their friends. They hiked one mile to the camp site and a friend was set up to distract Amy while Josh set up the proposal scene. When Amy came back, Josh read a scrapbook he made to her. It was full of poems he wrote about their courtship and relationship. At the end he said, “For this part, I must get down on one knee. Will you marry me?” Amy paused for a few seconds and said, “Wait, I’m trying to think of something that rhymes.” Then she said, “Yes, happily!” TOOO adorable right??
Josh and Amy, Thank you so much for letting me photograph your engagement set! We had a lot of fun with no touch, so I hope you guys are ready to turn 180 for the wedding day! haha;D I personally can’t wait *evil cackle* I hope you guys enjoy this set!!
THE STORY OF JOSH AND AMY
(rhyming photo-edition)
Josh and Amy here looking so fine,
Josh liked amy, and thought “i want to make her mine”
In midst of his confession
a loud aircraft interrupted his session
He repeated “I like you”
But Amy had to think it through
And so the courting began,
Amy discovered he’s good man.
Josh made her laugh,
with corny poems on her behalf.
Amy learned to like Josh too
And to that we all say “woohoo!”
A proposal was on its way,
Josh planned all things to play
To her he said “Will you marry me?”
Amy replied “Yes, happily!”
Their journey to marriage on a road that starts here
With God on their side, they have nothing to fear.
To be wed so lovely and soon
I simply can’t wait, for it to be June.
TO BE CONTINUED……
For now here’s are some photos from the rest of our shoot! 😀
Amy you are so beautiful!!!
Meet the adorable Joshie panda!
